A Ponderosa Creative Update

Hi friends,

I wanted to take a moment to share what’s been going on over here at Ponderosa Creative.

A big change is that I’ve largely swapped out time spent creating sewn goods with work in the community. I also do a lot of just, staring out at puget sound, contemplating everything, which is how I came to these recent changes.

I will be doing one last small community market with the sewn goods I’ve made, and I think then that’s it for awhile.

The Mountains Are Calling Artisan Market

This year, I’m stepping back from the big holiday markets (quite the shift from last year!), and discontinuing wholesale for sewn goods, but there’s still a way to grab something from Ponderosa Creative. My Etsy shop is stocked with sewn pieces that I’ve made over time, and they’re all ready to ship. I’d love for you to check them out and see if there’s something that catches your eye!

Ponderosa Creative Stockists

I’m also so grateful for the stockists who carry my work—while not all of them have items available online, they’ve got my heart. If you’re nearby, it’s definitely worth popping into their shops to see what’s in store.

Right now, I’m giving myself the time and space to embrace a slower creative process with sewing, trusting that when the time is right, I’ll get back into making wall quilts and upcycled pieces that truly bring me joy. Until then, I’m focusing on what feels right in this moment and building a sustainable future as a working artist, and I’m so thankful to have your support through all of it.

Instead of sewing for wholesale and market prep, I’ve been:

  • Curating work for the gallery + studio collective that my tattoo studio is a part of, in downtown Olympia

  • Facilitating mural work at the Nisqually Reach Nature Center

  • Helping out with kid’s cyanotype at the summer camps at Nisqually Reach Nature Center

  • Doing solar dye cyanotype for household linens with my kiddo

  • Diving deep into my creative practice as a tattoo artist

  • Teaching EPP classes at Wyldwood Creative, and getting more into hand sewing and quilting

  • Shipping out Ponderosa Thread Gloss all the time (still doing wholesale for that!!) and curating new blends (recession and poet have soft launched!)

  • Decorating and renovating my new apartment (lots of painting, and learning to tile a shower!)

  • Sewing with my friends, for fun!

Sending all the love your way, and I can’t wait to share what’s next.
