Zipper pouches for dayssss

Happy February!

It's my daughter's first birthday today, and we took her to the Point Defiance Zoo + Aquarium in Tacoma, about an hour north of where we live. She had a blast- we all did. Zoos raise some ethic questions for me but when it comes down to it, I support conservation in any form. We're all trying to do what we can- and today, my husband and I took our daughter to a place where our dollars will reflect our ideologies, since a good portion of ticket sales at PDZA goes into conservation projects. You can find more about the zoo + aquarium and the amazing work they do here: pdza.org

Other than being super emotional about my kid's first birthday (bye babyhood, hello toddlerdom and all of its new challenges), I've been busy in the studio, as usual. Here's the result:

New item alert! I've been making zipper pouches. These babies are roughly 5.5'' by 7.5'', give or take a little; lined, and each pouch has a slightly different variation of outer fabric, zipper color, lining fabric, and zipper accent. Fun, right?

Click the photos below to shop the collection. In addition to premade zipper pouches, I'm offering a custom order option as well.

This was a fun project! One that I may continue into the future. Have you ever made zipper pouches? What is your favorite quick-finish sewing or art project?

Until next time,

Paige

UPDATE 3/8/17: IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A PREMADE ZIPPER POUCH, CHECK OUT GALLERY BOOM IN OLYMPIA OR BIG COUNTRY HANDYWORKS IN CENTRALIA. OTHERWISE, CUSTOM POUCHES ARE STILL AVAILABLE IN MY ONLINE SHOP.
